Australia is the largest nation in Oceania, in fact it occupies one of the largest territories in the entire Earth (6th country by surface), even if it is not massively inhabited. Given the small extent of the other territories of this continent, many points of interest are in this nation, starting with cities such as Melbourne and Sydney.

PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY OF AUSTRALIA

Much of the territory is made up of plains and plateaus, the average altitude of the country is just 210 meters; the only mountain system of some importance, the Great Dividing Range, is located in the eastern part of the country and extends for about 3,000 kilometers, with the major peaks located in the section called the Australian Alps, the only area of the nation where the two thousand meters high; Mount Kosciuszko (2,228m) and Mount Townsend (2,209m), about 150km southwest of the capital Canberra, the two highest Australian peaks. In the rest of the country there are other isolated mountain ranges here and there with peaks of around 1,500 meters high.

The coasts have an overall development of almost 60,000 kilometers including the islands, which with the exception of the mountainous Tasmania (64,519 Km²), located in an extended kilometer south-east of mainland Australia, are not very extensive, compared for example with those of neighboring Indonesia. However, Melville (5,786 Km²), near Darwin, in the northernmost part of the country, the Island of the Kangaroos (4,416 Km²), south-west of Adelaide, the Grande Island (2,285 Km²) also exceed a thousand kilometers of surface. ), Bathurst (1,693 Km²), Fraser (1,653 Km²), Flinders (1,359 Km²), King (1,091 Km²) and Mornington (1,002 Km²).

In Australia there are obviously the longest watercourses of Oceania, given that it is the only very large country on this continent, but the aridity of the internal area of the country has not allowed the development of a significant hydrographic network; the only large river basin is that of the Murray-Darling, in the south-east of the Nation, the main river, the Murray is 2,520 km long, while its tributary Darling reaches 2,740 km, considering its spring branches Culgoa and Condamine; followed by Murrumbidge (1,575 Km) and Lachlan (1,370 Km), always included in this catchment area; many of the smaller watercourses have a seasonal nature with full during the wettest months and periods in which they are completely dry.

The lake basins are also influenced by climate and seasonality, the main ones are all saline and mostly dry for most of the time, starting from the Eyre (9,500 Km²), passing4 as Torrens (5.75 Km²) and Gairdner (4.351 Km²) in the South Australian region; these lakes are however numerous also in the other regions, the Mackay (3,494 Km²) is the fourth by extension, while the largest freshwater ones are of artificial origin.

Given the extension of the territory, Australia has different climates, although the arid and semi-arid continental one prevails, the northern area instead has a tropical climate, with seasonal summer rains, while the eastern one between Brisbane and Tasmania has characteristics oceanic temperate more favorable to human settlement, finally the southern regions of Perth and Adelaide a Mediterranean climate, with precipitation in important winter.

TOURISM IN AUSTRALIA

Given the most modern distances and the vastness of the landscape, the longest territory required several weeks for an in-depth visit of Australia, which in addition to some of the cities of the planet can boast different areas of interest, such as the famous Mount Uluru (Ayers Rock), the massive rock massif of the Australian outback.

THE PROJECT ORIGIN

"In the American temperament there is a quality, called resiliency, which embraces the concepts of elasticity, rebound, resource and good humor. A girl loses her patrimony, without being commensurate, she will start washing dishes and making hats. A student will not feel debased by working a few hours in a garage or a café. I saw America at the end of the Hoover presidency, in one of the most tragic hours in its history, when all the banks had shut down and economic life was at a standstill. Anguish gripped hearts, but happiness and confidence shone in everyone's faces. Listening to the phrases they exchanged one would have said that it was all a huge joke. And if some financier threw itself out the window, I can't help believing it did so in the deceptive hope of bouncing back ”- Paul Claudel.

The book aims to describe the concept of resilience, a concept that indicates the ability to deal positively with difficult events, to positively reorganize one's life in the face of difficulties, to rebuild oneself while remaining sensitive to the positive opportunities that life offers, without alienating one's own identity. The story tells about a boy who will find himself managing a reality that he could not expect or predict, thanks to the resilience he has shown in various complex and difficult life situations.
